Community Interest

Here at St. David's we have a diverse congregation that enjoys connecting with our community and each other.  We provide the opportunity for fellowship and faith building in a variety of interest areas.  Everyone is welcome to join one or more of these active groups.

Busy Hands

We meet the Third Thursday of every month at 7pm.  Join us to work on your current project, learn from others, or simply socialize!  We are "busy" in so many ways! There is no required design or method, all are accepted!  If you want to learn how to make one, we can make it happen! Busy Hands has croched lap robes for the Lutheran Home as well as the Veterans Home in Hollidaysburg.

All projects are planned to provide a variety of options.  Support is always available and selections account for basic skill level.  Do you enjoy something else?  Come share it with us and enjoy an evening dedicated to whatever you're working on.  No need to keep changing your project just because we are.  Allow others to do that task and simply keep momentum on what you prefer.

At the present time the group s working on croched blankets to cover incubators in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital in Johnstown.  The covers provide the nesessary darkness for these struggling babies to rest.  The blankets are then given to the family when the babies are sent home. All are welcome and we hope to see you there!

God's Work Our Hands

God's Work Our Hands (GWOH) Sunday is an opportunity to celebrate who we are as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Americal (ELCA).  St. David's is proud to be one of the thousands of congregations that participate in this opportunity to serve our community.

In 2016, we organized our day of GWOH on September 11th, 15 years after the devestating attach on our country.  We reached out to the community sharing the Love of God.  Nearly 100 volunteers assisted at Camp Sequanota, the Somerset Animal Shelter, Jerome Fire Hall, Delivered meals to two shelters and a number of congregational memebers, and prepared personal care kits to be distributed to those in need.

OVERTIME
Friday nights after home games at Conemaugh Township

Overtime is a great community outreach program which provides a safe, fun, and food filled environment for students in 7th–12th grade.  We welcome student's from all schools!  We meet after specified home games held at CTHS in the fellowship hall at the church.

Your financial support is needed to continue this program.  Please help! Please put OVERTIME somewhere on your payment. Also, we need your help!!
